IGOR Gorgonzola 1.5 Kg. X 4 Pcs
Produced from cow’s milk, Gorgonzola is a special type of blue cheese of Italian origin with a characteristic aroma. Its production began approximately a century ago in the town of Gorgonzola near Milan, and it was registered with a geographical indication in Italy in 1955 and in the European Union in 1996. Today, it is predominantly produced in Northern Italy, particularly in the Piedmont and Lombardy regions.
Its distinctive blue-grey veins originate from the special penicillium culture used in its production. It features a very potent aroma with a texture that crumbles easily in the mouth and a distinctly salty taste. It has two main varieties: Dolce (soft and creamy) and Piccante (harder and more intensely flavored).
With a 50% fat content, this semi-hard cheese reaches its ideal flavor profile by being aged for 3–4 months. Besides being one of the fundamental components of four-cheese pizzas, it is widely used in cheese platters, pizzas, soups, meat and pasta sauces, risottos, and salads. The product is presented in 1.5 kg forms and is available for sale in packs of 4.
