EMBORG Danish Camembert Cheese 125 Gr X 12 Pcs
The town of Camembert, located in the Orne department of France, gave this cheese its name. It shares similar characteristics with Brie cheese but is sharper. Its usage and appearance are almost identical. A slow-maturing cheese variety, Camembert has a soft and creamy texture with an edible rind. It belongs to the mold-ripened cheese family. After the cheese is shaped, penicillin is applied to its outer surface to develop the mold layer. A single wheel weighs only 240g, and in 1890, an engineer designed a wooden box to protect it during sea voyages; however, with modern packaging advancements, most companies now use plastic or metal containers. Origin: France. Source: Cow. Fat: 45%. Maturation: 4 – 6 weeks. Class: Soft. Areas of use: Cheese platters, buns, pastries.
